Sustainable Enterprise Initiative

The Sustainable Enterprise Initiative is a part of the IL SBDC at UIC and assists the emergence and growth of business ventures with a significant focus on both environmental and economic sustainability. Examples include companies: (1) seeking to create and commercialize alternative, clean energy, (2) with products made from renewable, natural or organic resources, (3) with the potential to substantially reduce energy consumption, or (4) with the potential to significantly reduce waste, carbon emissions or other pollutants. Potential clients must also demonstrate economic viability and the potential to add jobs in Illinois. The initiative will provide consulting services and grants to assist startups and growing small/medium firms with an emphasis on job creation and retention.
