The Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies supports an acclaimed entrepreneurship program at the UIC College of Business Administration that includes a bachelor of science, an MBA concentration, and a PhD seminar in entrepreneurship. As part of its mission to support local entrepreneurs, IES also offers a certificate program for business owners. For the past six years, our entrepreneurship program has been recognized as one of the Top 25 in the nation by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine. Through our Illinois Small Business Development Center and the Entrepreneurial Student Teams Project, we have matched more than 1,000 CBA students with local small businesses for project-based learning. In 2005, we launched the Concept2Venture Business Plan Competition, which welcomes students from across campus to present their growing new businesses. As part of that, the Technology Ventures Program gives MBA students the opportunity to utilize UIC's scientific technologies to create viable new ventures. C2V teams have gained international recognition for their achievements on the competition circuit and a number have sold their small companies to large investors.
