C’3, C’5, C’6, C’7, C’8, C’9
The first
component, C’1 is a complex of 3 protein
subcomponents C’1q, C’1r, and C’1s, held
together by calcium ions
Activation
proceeds in a cascade-like fashion: i.e.; each
component is activated by the preceding one
and, in turn, leads to the activation of
the next component in the sequence
