Possible problems with in office testing
nNot knowing whether the periodontal disease is active
in the site at the time of testing
It is believed that many periodontal diseases are
episodic, that is, going from a period of active disease to a period of inactivity or no
disease
So one can’t be sure, that the disease is active in the
site you are sampling
