These 2 organisms differ slightly in their ability to
produce abscesses. This can
be seen in their abilities to produce various virulence
factors.
They produce many enzymes, like the staphylococci
and streptococci. Included are Acid and alkaline
phosphatases, aminopeptidases, several proteases including
collagenase, elastase gelatinase and a trypsinlike
protease.
