The University Northside Partnership is an emerging community/university partnership focused on improving health and socio-economic disparities in North Minneapolis. The key partners include the University of Minnesota, Hennepin County, NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center, the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) and Pillsbury United Communities. These organizations are working together on the development of a new human services building on the NorthPoint Campus, where they will all have a significant programmatic presence. By co-locating their services in the same building and seeking to develop an integrated approach to serving clients, the partners hope to break down silos that exist between public, private and nonprofit organizations and to achieve better outcomes for clients and the community as a whole.
