Located within the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs at UIC, UPP is one of the largest graduate planning programs in the nation and the only accredited planning program in the Chicago area. UPP Open Houses
UPP will host Open Houses for prospective students on:

Open Houses are held in Room 110 at CUPPA Hall, 412 S. Peoria St. Registration and refreshments is at 6:00, with the Open House program from 6:30-8:00. Interested students should review the Prospective Students page on the UPP website for information on the program. Please RSVP to upp@uic.edu if you plan to attend. Rachel Weber makes sense of using dollars effectively
Rachel Weber, associate director of the Great Cities Institute and associate professor of Urban Planning and Policy, is the go-to person on city finance for public officials and policymakers. She was recently named to Mayor Rahm Emanuel's Task Force on TIFs. Read her recent profile here.
Urban Planning Makes Top 50 Job Rankings for 2010
U.S. News & World Report has ranked urban planning as one of the top 50
jobs for 2010 with expected strong growth over the following decade. The
article notes that expanding population requires investment in
transportation, affordable housing, and schools-all of which require
planning. It is projected that the field will grow by 19 percent from
