Please complete the following form to request a new Blackboard course site or to request a re-use/copy of a previous course site. Requests should be submitted at least two (2) weeks before the site is needed to guarantee timely setup. Instructors using Blackboard for the first time need to attend or schedule an introductory faculty training session (see below).

If there are any questions or problems, please email the ITL Blackboard support staff at blackboard@uic.edu.

In particular, indicate here if you are supplying multiple call numbers to get multiple independent sites, otherwise they will all be added to the same site.
End-of-term Policy *

Semester-based and temporary course sites will be available until the end date you specified above, normally one week after finals. Then they are hidden from students, but remain on your list (you can override site availability and duration from the control panel, under Settings). Older sites will then be sorted towards the bottom of your course list by prepending a "z" to their name. One year afterwards, the site will be taken offline and thus become inaccessible even to you. Nothing will be deleted from it, however. Its materials can be re-used for future terms with new student info upon your request (via this form).

This does not apply to ongoing course sites.
I understand.

Activate a Blackboard Student Account

A good practice to ensure all functionality of your Blackboard course appears, functions, populates the Grade Center and is deployed correctly is to activate a secondary student Blackboard account. You will have a new login ID "netID.bb" and you will use the same password as your primary ACCC common password (same password you access UIC Webmail etc.). After the account is activated (takes up to 30 minutes) you can then enroll your secondary account into your Blackboard course and test appropriately.

For first-time Blackboard instructors only...

First-time Blackboard instructors should attend an introductory Blackboard faculty training session with the ITL, which typically lasts 60 minutes.

This is to help you be more productive with Blackboard and to avoid a flood of questions later on. If you previously had such an introduction, you do not need it again. However, you are always welcome to stop by for additional training at the ITL-East or ITL-West.
