ACCC Online is a quick and easy way, while on the phone with a consultant, to resolve computer problems easily or it can be used to help guide you through certain tasks. This is easily accomplished by sharing your computer screen with an ACCC consultant. The consultant, with your permission, will view and control your computer remotely, in order to troubleshoot and repair a multitude of software problems. To begin an ACCC Online session, you will need to run the very small client application on your computer. Once you have ran the client program, it will display a 9-digit ID number and a unique 4-digit password, only valid for one connection session to your computer. For security reasons, each time you run the ACCC Online software a new password will be generated. Once connected, the conultant will have full control of your computer and you will be able to observe everything they do on your monitor. The ACCC Online session includes a chat feature (remote control window), located on the side panel, which allows you to communicate with the consultant via text. So, no need to hang on the phone while using ACCC Online. Through the chat, the consultant will also be able to do one or more of the following:

| How secure is ACCC Online? | ||
|
The ACCC Online session, from the time the connection is initiated and up until it's terminated is encrypted, preventing anyone from listening in or viewing your session other than the intended consultant. You must initiate the connection and are always remaining in control of your computer at all times. Once the ACCC Online software is launched on your computer, the consultant requires the 9-digit ID number and 4-digit password to connect to your computer. Once connected, the software will ask for confirmation to allow the consultant to control your computer. After confirmation, the consultant will have control of the keyboard and mouse. At any point, you can regain control of the mouse and keyboard by moving your mouse. You are also able to terminate the session from the remote control window. Once the session is terminated, the consultant is no longer in control of your computer and not able to reconnect. As mentioned earlier in the document, the consultant requires a 9-digit ID number and 4-digit password to connect; the password is unique to the session and can never be used again. |
