Take me to information about...
ANSYS software allows engineers to construct computer
models of structures, machine components or systems; apply
operating loads and other design criteria; and study physical
responses, such as stress levels, temperature distributions,
pressure, etc. It permits an evaluation of a design without
having to build and destroy multiple prototypes in testing.

Vendor Terms
UIC licenses the use of the ANSYS software package on
a yearly basis. Normally we just pay them money and use the software,
but, as of 2000, ANSYS insisted on an extra condition.
According to our license agreement, users may be required to submit
copies of "final published papers," which outline project work performed
using ANSYS Inc. software. Specifically, the copies are to be provided
annually prior to the August 31st, the anniversary date of the license.
This condition had, prior to 2000, never been enforced. But now they are
enforcing it. If we fail to comply, ANSYS may not renew our license
So, once a year, systems will ask you to send us a copy of any paper
that you or a colleague has written to a journal, magazine, or any
publication that outlines work performed using ANSYS, Inc. software.
If you have questions as to what you need to do to comply with
the ANSYS policy, then send email to systems@uic.edu.
