Phone Features


VoIP phones are an exciting new convergence of TCP/IP communication and traditional telephony!

VoIP telephony allows for a whole new level of customization and control over your departmental business processes. With features like programmable line appearances, advanced caller ID options, conference call capabilities, and embedded institutional directories it's like having a miniature digital assistant right in your telephone!

Featuresets are dependent upon the specific type of hardware. At UIC we are deploying Cisco handsets in the form of single line, multi-line and multi-line with sidecar configurations. With softphones and virtual sidecar add ons there is no limit to the number of lines that can be programmed into a telephone.
