The Field Guide to Chicago Buildings was developed as a collaborative effort between the City Design Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Chicago Teachers' Center of Northeastern Illinios University with funding from the National Endowment of the Humanities and the United States Department of Education.

Answer for Question # 3:

Who lived here?

It is quite likely that this building housed two families of fairly modest income. Most really affluent people in nineteenth century Chicago would have wanted a house of their own. In this case it was very likely to have been one family who built the house for their own use and who rented out the other unit to help pay the mortgage and the costs of maintaining the building.
