The Field Guide to Chicago Buildings was developed as a collaborative effort between the City Design Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Chicago Teachers' Center of Northeastern Illinios University with funding from the National Endowment of the Humanities and the United States Department of Education.









Project Information

These pages were developed through a collaboration between the City Design Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Chicago Teachers’ Center of Northeastern University with funding from the National Endowment of the Humanities and the Department of Education.

The project was directed by Robert Bruegmann, Professor of Art History at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Melinda Morrissey of the Chicago Teachers' Center as part of the Teaching History Through Architecture initiative of the Chicago Teachers' Center that took place between 1997 and 2002. It was created as part of the Chicago Imagebase, a project of the City Design Center of the University of Ilinois at Chicago since 1996 under co-directors Roberta Feldman and George Hemmens.
