The department operates both undergraduate and graduate computing laboratories in the Science and Engineering Laboratory (SEL) building. The Undergraduate Computing Laboratory presently consists of 5 Pentium II and 20 486 PCs networked to a server with a wide range of civil engineering software systems. Printers and plotter capabilities are also available. Several hundred PCs connected to the campus network are available in adjoining PC laboratories operated by the ACCC Public Computer Laboratories in SEL. The Graduate Computing Laboratory presently consists of one Sun ULTRA 10 with 576 Mb of memory and two Sun SPARC20 workstations, each with two processors and 256 MB of memory. The network is supported by external disks and tape drives as well as internal disk drives. A PC for analysis of output, a scanner, and a PS printer complete the laboratory. |
