Realizing safety is a prerequisite for community and personal development, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation has provided a $1.2 million grant over four years to the Chicago Project.
"Donors probably don't understand the amount of help they're giving, but those of us who receive this funding feel tremendous gratitude and deeply appreciated for our hard work. Without my scholarships, I wouldn't be able to pursue my dream of social reform for immigrants that will allow them to share in the opportunities afforded to U.S. citizens."
