The Faculty Resource Center provides assistance and training to faculty members in how to incorporate technology in a pedagogically relevant way. It is also the office of the Language and Culture Learning Center. Someone is generally present to take care of the Oasis between 9am and 5pm, M-F.
The Faculty Resource Center can provide in-person assistance to faculty members. Such in-person assistance usually pertains to accomplishing a specific limited task in Blackboard or using a specific program that we have previously addressed in a workshop. We will do our best to help you on the spot during the times shown below:
| Fall 2008 Open Hours: | Monday | 9:30 am - 11:00 am |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday | 11:30 am - 1:30 pm | |
| Wednesday | 11:30 am - 2:30 pm |
If you need assistance at a different time, or your problem is complex or involves a program we have not seen before, please schedule an individual consultation. Contact us to schedule a time.
We run workshops about technology in the classroom, sponsor talks about current linguistics research, and help with program outreach by coordinating and advertising diverse events in ways that reach students.
See "For Instructors" above for more information about LCLC services with regards to language instruction.
We maintain all services in the Oasis, Room 308 GH, including coordinating the many events that are held there and providing assistance with the TVs (including changing channels at your request). Additionally, we help foster a language-learning community and provide multimedia equipment for film and audio projects.
