CALA Midwest Chapter program will take place at the Chicago Public Library - Chinatown Branch on Saturday, July 11th, 2009. For those of you who are attending ALA and CALA activities, the location of the CALA Midwest Chapter program is very convenient for you - The Chinatown Branch is within walking distance from McCormick Place, where ALA 2009 Conference will take place during July 9th - July 15th.

This year CALA Midwest Chapter's Program Committee brings you a program that focuses on the needs of Chinese-American librarians and information professionals. The program includes an "unconference" session where participants decide what they like to learn and be "taught" by one another. In addition, a "Knowledge Tank" session will feature research posters presented students and researchers. If you are interested in presenting a poster, please send the title of the poster, abstract, and information about yourself to Jen-chien Yu yuj@muohio.edu.

The CALA Midwest Chapter 2009 Annual Program also features a Tea Time Social with delicious dim sum a special performance of Chinese Tea Ceremony, conducted by our own Sherab Chen, The Ohio State University Libraries.

The Chinatown Hotel SRO, also located in Chinatown, is offering a discount rate for our members: $75+ tax for a 2 persons room (Queen bed room or 2-twin beds room).
