Welcome

Welcome to the newly established Alliance for Integrated Networks of Nanoscale Sensors for Biomedical Applications. The purpose of the alliance is to act as an umbrella for both research and education relating to nanoscale sensors as well as their uses in selected biomedical applications at UIC.The founding members of the alliance include faculty drawn primarily from the College of Engineering, College of Medicine, and College of Pharmacy. As nanotechnology and its applications to medicine are multidisciplinary in nature, we anticipate a growing number of faculty will join the alliance and participate in its activities. We are indebted to Dean Prith Banerjee for chartering the alliance, and to Associate Dean Sol Shatz for his help in forming the alliance.

The alliance fulfills an important research role, as it seeks to increase awareness and collaborations in the ever-expanding array of multidisciplinary research efforts underlying the use of nanosensors in medical applications.  Moreover, the alliance serves as a point of contact with outside organizations and has the goal of fostering collaborations among UIC faculty, industry, government, and other universities.

If you are a UIC faculty member with research interests in nanoscale sensors for biomedical applications, we hope you will join our alliance. If you are a student at UIC with interests in nanoscale sensors for biomedical applications we hope you will participate in alliance activities.  If you are in industry or government, and have interests in nanoscale sensors for biomedical applications, we want to work with you.

Welcome!
