Describe how your services complement college- or department-based advising:
Advising by the GPPA undergraduate coordinator complements degree college advising, departmental advising, and Honors College advising by discussing the GPPA requirements and their integration with degree requirements and Honors College requirements (if applicable). The GPPA undergraduate coordinator works in partnership with other advisors to advise students regarding course work, and involvement in research, activities, and capstone projects with the goal of assisting each student to maximize his/her academic experience at UIC. The GPPA undergraduate coordinator assists each student with regard to communication with his/her GPPA professional/graduate contact and with the process to apply to graduate or professional school.
How do you assign advisors or counselors to students?
No assignment is necessary. All students work directly with the GPPA undergraduate coordinator.
Procedure for scheduling appointments:
Students may call into our main office at (312) 355-2477 or scheduling can be completed via e-mail. Scheduling by phone is preferred.
Additional information or advice for students:
The GPPA undergraduate coordinator also provides information to GPPA Medicine and GPPA Dentistry students regarding seminar registration each semester.
