UIC will co-host The Illinois Symposium on RIA ApplicationsUIC will co-host The Illinois Symposium on RIA Applications together with Argonne National Laboratory and Northwestern University in coordination with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The symposium will be held on August 8th in UIC’s Molecular Biology Research Building and will bring together experts and interested parties to discuss applications of the Rare Isotope Accelerator (RIA) proposed to be constructed and operated at ANL. The meeting will focus on RIA's broad range of potential applications in medicine, industry, homeland security and various other fields of science. This will be a unique opportunity for scientists and engineers from regional universities and research laboratories as well as representatives from commercial enterprises to learn about RIA and its uses.
