The Life Sciences community in the Midwest is rich in both
depth and breadth of talent, organizations and innovation. The purpose
of the Life Sciences Initiative is to create an ongoing interactive forum
when:
researchers are brought together
to form collaborative communities;
established industry organizations have an opportunity to see new
technologies that are being developed in the laboratories of researchers
from local and regional universities and early stage companies;
there is an environment that fosters potential partnerships, both
strategic and financial in nature.
The Life Sciences Initiative includes formal topic-specific research programs as well as the establishment of social and personal fellowships and mentorships.
Leadership
The leadership consists of a core group of individuals representing
the major Midwest research universities, national and independent laboratories,
the established pharmaceutical, device and biotech companies, and early
stage inventors from the venture capital and angel communities.
