UIC Journal of Undergraduate Research
To promote undergraduate research at UIC, Professor Klie has founded and serves as editor of the Journal of Undergraduate Research at UIC (http://jur.phy.uic.edu), a faculty-reviewed online journal that is aimed at publishing outstanding research from undergraduate students studying at UIC in the fields of pure and applied sciences and engineering. The journal, which is currently published annually, with a goal of increasing publication to twice a year, promotes research papers by undergraduate students at UIC who are either actively involved in research activities during the academic year or over the summer. The first issue, published in December of 2007, contains 13 outstanding contributions from undergraduate students that have participated in the 2007 REU program while the second issue appeared in November of 2008 and contains 12 scientific papers by UIC undergraduate students. Currently, the journal is published online at http://jur.phy.uic.edu, but the authors receive a hardcopy of the journal.
