CCTS 2008 Pilot Grant Program

Dr. Theodore Mazzone, Director of the UIC Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS), is pleased to announce the CCTS 2008 Pilot Grant Program.  The program is supported by the Office of the Provost, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, and the Health Science Colleges, and focuses on clinical and translational research.  As such, all applications must involve human subjects, facilitate human subject investigations, or establish infrastructure related to human subject investigation.   Funding will be considered for Planning Grants (preparatory work for interdisciplinary collaboration) or Preliminary (pilot) Studies.  Principal Investigators must be clinical, research, or tenure track UIC faculty or must be affiliated with other CCTS partners. Preference will be given to studies from investigators who wish to move their work into new, clinically relevant areas, to studies that involve new interdisciplinary collaborations, and to studies that show involvement of CCTS core resources (e.g., clinical/patient interfaces).   Details can be found at:http://www.uic.edu/depts/mcam/CCTS/cctspilot.htm

Deadlines for the 2008 pilot grant program: Letter of intent is due August 1, 2008; and complete pilot grant application is due September 15, 2008.Questions? Please contact Irene Ziaya, CCTS Investigator Interface Coordinator, at iziaya1@uic.edu, or 312-413-7316
