White Paper

A White Paper is a short summary of your research idea used to gauge the interest of a sponsor in reading a full-fledged proposal. It must be geared to a specific audience and their needs. In this case, your audience is a multidisciplinary group of UIC faculty reviewers. Their need? To select the proposal that has the best chance of getting funded. In general, they'll be looking for technical merit, broad impact, and how well you can address the sponsor's guidelines.

Generally Required White Paper Content (May vary by competition)

a. Name and departmental affiliation of PI and Co-PIs
b. Sponsor and sponsor program name

2. Three (3) page narrative addressing:

a. How your proposal addresses the intent of Program Announcement
b. What PI and team expect to accomplish
