American College of Rheumatology Research and Education Foundation - Health Professional NEW Investigator Program
Program Summary
The purpose of the ACR REF Health Professional NEW Investigator Award is to provide support to health professionals new to rheumatology and committed to a career in rheumatology-related research. Recipients will receive $50,000 each year for two years for salary and/or research support.
UIC is limited to two (2) applications per department
Eligibility
Applicants must be within five years of receiving their doctoral degree, have no existing or past NIH funding as principle investigators, and be members of the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals. Applicants may not apply for the Health Professional New Investigator Award and the Health Professional Investigator award during the same cycle.

Letter of Intent
- By submitting this form, applicant attests that s/he has read and meets the sponsor's eligibility criteria for this program.
- Unit head must sign Item #3 to acknowledge they are aware of the following program conditions and restrictions:
- Program requires evidence of adequate institutional support to allow completion of the proposed work.
- No part of any award fund can be used for indirect costs.
- Only two applications may be submitted per department.
