Humana Communities Benefit

Program Summary

Humana Communities Benefit is a charitable-giving program that awards a one-time $100,000 signature grant to a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in the Chicago area focused on improving health experiences or building healthy communities in the areas of:

Childhood health and education – Projects or initiatives that seek to improve health and academic achievement of children through the educational landscape

Sponsored by the Humana Foundation, the goal of this $100,000 contribution to a single Chicago nonprofit is to make a positive, transformational impact on an organization, allowing them to reach greater milestone goals.

A panel of community leader judges will select the grant recipient in August, and Humana will announce theHumana Communities Benefit $100,000 grant recipient in October.

Depending upon the number of LOIs submitted, OVCR might be required to facilitate an internal peer review process to select UIC’s submission(s) to this program. White paper instructions will be posted if necessary.
