Program Summary
Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, a funding source for cancer research, is currently accepting applications for innovative grants for translational research in ovarian, uterine, breast, or cervical cancer.
The program will offer at least eight grants. The awards will be up to $100,000 each (combined direct and indirect costs). The grant period is for two years.
UIC is restricted to one application.

Letter of Intent
- By submitting this form, applicant attests that s/he has read and meets the sponsor's eligibility criteria for this program. The LOI can be emailed to RDS@uic.edu, Attn: Jennifer Czak.
- OVCR may reserve submission slots for previously submitted but unfunded proposals that received highly competitive ratings from the external sponsor. These will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Vice Chancellor. For consideration, scanned copies of your complete reviews (not just summary) must be included with LOI.

Depending upon the number of LOIs submitted, OVCR might be required to facilitate an internal peer review process to select UIC’s submission(s) to this program. White paper instructions will be issued to those submitting LOIs, if necessary.

- A description of the research no longer than five typed (8.5 x 11) pages. Type on only one side of the page. Please use 12 point type. Start with specific aims, preliminary results and research design.
- Literature cited, letters of collaboration, illustrations, tables, etc. may be
included. This can be up to an additional five (8.5 x 11) pages. Use only one side of the page. - List other financial support, this should include all federal, private, or PHS 398, and "other support" from institutional sources of funding and % of effort on each project and potential overlap between other support and
this proposal. - Provide a two page biographical sketch or PHS 398 Biographical Sketch form for professional personnel listed on budget request. Please submit only the enclosed form or the PHS 398 Biographical Sketch. U.S.
citizenship is not required.
