George M. Obrien Urology Research Centers (P50) RFA-DK-08-016Program summaryThe purpose of this program is to establish the George M. O’Brien Urology Research Centers to create a research community for major clinical urologic diseases and syndromes within the NIDDK mission interests. The broad objectives of these centers are to: 1) advance research and insight into clinical urologic diseases and syndromes; 2) provide an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary foundation and resource for collaboration among clinical, translational, and basic science researchers in the field of urologic disease; 3) attract established investigators with unique scientific expertise and new investigators to study urological diseases and disorders within NIDDK mission interests; and 4) integrate urologic research into the surrounding institution.
