NIH - In Vivo Cellular and Molecular Imaging Centers PAR-06-406

Program Description

The purpose of this program is to accelerate the progress in molecular imaging as the basis for the extraordinary, non-invasive, and quantitative analytical tools useful in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer as well as in the laboratory environment to interrogate biological pathways relevant to cancer. ICMIC funding is designed to:

  1. Support unique core facilities;
  2. Enable the awardees to initiate pilot research in new promising directions;
  3. Provide interdisciplinary career development opportunities for investigators new to the field of molecular cancer imaging.

The P50 mechanism will be used.

An institution may submit only one application and may have only one funded ICMIC.

Awards

Budgets are capped at $2,000,000 total costs per year for up to five years.

Limited Competition Instructions

If requested, submit one electronic copy of a White Paper containing the following:

  1. One (1) Page cover page with following information:
    1. Name & departmental affiliation of PI and Co-PIs
    2. Sponsor and sponsor program name
    3. Title of White Paper
    4. PI Contact Information
    5. Optional:
      1. Identify potential individuals to review proposal - reviewers should not have a personal stake in outcome of this competition and ideally should not be from same unit as applicant.
      2. Identify reviewers to exclude - this information will remain confidential.
  2. Three (3) page narrative addressing:
    1. How your proposal addresses the intent of Program Announcement
    2. What PI & team expect to accomplish
    3. Expected overall significance
  3. Attach the following for PI and each CoPI:
    1. Two page CV
    2. 1 page current and pending support

Narrative must be 12-point font; minimum acceptable margin is 1 inch (2.5 cm) all around.
Unless otherwise noted, no budget is required
