U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Scholarship and Fellowship Education Grant HR-FN-1208-NED01Program SummaryThe scholarship program provides funding to colleges and universities to award scholarships to students to pursue an education in nuclear science, engineering, and other disciplines that may be beneficial in developing and maintaining a nuclear workforce. Funding under this program includes support for education in nuclear science, engineering, and related disciplines to develop a workforce capable of supporting the design, construction, operation, and regulation of nuclear facilities and the safe handling of nuclear materials. Fellowships may be requested for two (2) individuals of up to $50,000 per year for four (4) years ($400,000 total project period) and are not renewable. Scholarship funds for up to $200,000 per institution may be requested through this solicitation for two (2) years. NRC awards grants directly to accredited U.S. institutions of higher education and does not award individual scholarships or fellowships. Individual students cannot apply directly to NRC for scholarships or fellowships. Applicants should describe scholarships and fellowships as the university’s program and not as the NRC’s program. Applications should describe the recruitment activities and specific marketing strategies designed to attract a large and diverse pool of applicants. Applications must also describe the selection process that will ensure the most qualified applicants are selected based on academic merit, with consideration given to financial need and the goal of promoting the participation of minorities, women, and persons with disabilities. UIC is restricted to only one application for a 2-year Scholarship Program and one application for a 4-year Fellowship Program. Additional Information Deadlines
