NSF – CISE Pathways
to revitalized undergraduate computing education
Program Description
The purpose of this funding opportunity is to transform
undergraduate computing education on a national scale, to meet the challenges
and opportunities of a world where computing is essential to U.S. leadership
and economic competitiveness across all sectors of society.
There are four components to this initiative – two have restricted
submission requirements.
Evaluation, Adoption and Extension (EAE)
Transformation Awards (T)
Awards
EAE – Up to $900,000 per year for 3 years.
T – Up to $1.5 Million total for five years

to the EAE or T component.

Limited Competition Instructions
Submit one electronic copy of a White Paper containing
the following:
- One (1) Page cover page with following information:
- Name & departmental
affiliation of PI and Co-PIs
- Sponsor and sponsor program name
- Title of White Paper
- PI Contact Information
- Unit Business Manager or Grant Coordinator contact information
- Optional:
- Identify potential individuals to review proposal
- reviewers should not have a personal stake
in outcome of this competition and ideally
should not be from same unit as
applicant.
- Identify reviewers to exclude
- this information will remain confidential.
- Note if this is a resubmission. If so, attach any peer
review comments received from either external sponsor or a prior
UIC internal competition.
- Three (3) page narrative
addressing:
- How your proposal addresses the intent of
Program Announcement
- What PI & team expect to accomplish
- Expected overall significance
Page limits INCLUDE any charts, figures, tables, references, etc
- Attach the following for PI and
each CoPI:
- Two page CV
- 1 page current and pending support
Narrative must be 12-point font; minimum acceptable margin is 1 inch (2.5
cm) all around.
Unless otherwise noted, no budget is required.
