NSF –Innovation through Institutional Integration (I3)Program SolicitationFor FY 2009, proposals are being solicited in nine EHR programs that advance the I3 programs. UIC is eligible for GSE, ITEST, LSAMP, MSP, Noyce, and RDE. UIC is not eligible for CREST, HBCU-UP, and TCUP. Program summaryThese projects enable institutions to think and act strategically about the creative integration of NSF-funded awards, with particular emphasis on awards managed through programs in the Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR), but not limited to those awards. Awards:Up to 12 continuing awards will be made in the Innovation through Institutional Integration (I3) activity for the February 24, 2009, competition, pending availability of funds. Up to 12 continuing I3 awards will also be made in Fiscal Year 2010 for the August 25, 2009, competition, pending availability of funds. Awards are expected to be for up to five years, up to $250,000 per year and made as continuing grants. Submission limits:UIC may submit only one (1) proposal to the Innovation through Institutional Integration (I3) program for each deadline. The PI for an Innovation through Institutional Integration (I3) proposal must be the university provost or equivalent, unless the proposal is exclusively for I3 STEM Educational or related research. Depending upon the number of LOIs submitted, OVCR might be required to facilitate an internal peer review process to select UIC’s submission(s) to this program. White paper instructions will be issued to those submitting LOIs, if necessary.
