NSF – Nanotechnology Undergraduate Education Program

Description

This solicitation aims at introducing nanoscale science, engineering, and technology through a variety of interdisciplinary approaches into undergraduate education. The focus is on nanoscale engineering education with relevance to devices and systems and/or on the social, economic, and ethical issues that surround nanotechnology.

UIC may submit one proposal as a lead institution. UIC may submit a second proposal as lead institution only if it is focused on the societal, ethical, economic and or/environmental implications of nanoscale science and engineering; two proposals focused on these areas are not allowed.

Deadlines

UIC Internal Notice of Intent (Required)     February 28, 2006
UIC Internal Competition (If necessary) March 14, 2006
NSF Full Application May 16, 2006

Awards

Each award will be up to a maximum of $200,000 for two years.
