National Institutes of Health (NIH) Change in Business Process – eRA Commons

On May 3, 2006, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced a change in business process that affects both electronic and hard copy proposal applications.

Effective June 1, 2006 NIH will no longer send paper notification of assignment and change of assignment letters.

A major motivation for this change is that effective May 10, 2006 all applications submitted to NIH must include the eRA Commons User name for all Principal Investigators. Therefore UIC Investigators will need to use the eRA Commons to obtain notice of assignment and change of assignment letters.

For additional information or assistance with eRA Commons, please contact the Office of Research Services (ORS) at 6-9405.
