Overview
The Department of Education IES requires that (ORS) submit the proposal electronically through the IES web site. Follow the instructions below to insure that your proposal is prepared and processed correctly.Instructions

At least 5 days prior to the submission deadline, submit the Proposal Approval Form PAF, proposal budget and scope of work to ORS for review and approval. Be sure to include the deadline date.
Note: The proposal will not be submitted to DED IES without receipt of the PAF.

When a PI registers in the system, through the completion of the Authorized Official in Step 1, an email will automatically be generated notifying ORS of the registration.

When completing the online grant application, it is important to complete the following sections of ED 424 correctly so as not to delay submission of the proposal:
| Step 1 - Organization | Legal Name: The Board of Trustees of the
University of Illinois |
| Step 2 - Project Director | Enter UIC PI information as appropriate |
| Step 3- Authorized Representative | Primary: Yes *NOTE: Incorrect entry of this email address may delay your proposal submission to IES. |
| Step 4 - General Information | UIC Standard Institutional Information |
| Step 6 - Federal Budget | Enter the budget as approved by ORS (submitted w/PAF 5 days prior to proposal due date). If budget is incorrect, a delay in submission may occur. |
| Step 11 - Notify AR | Upon validating your proposal and selecting Notify AR, an email will be received by ORS indicating that your proposal is ready for submission. With the PAF and approved budget (matching that entered in to the online application) ORS will submit your application. |
