Go to Grants.gov! Apply for Grants

Introduction | Find Grant Opportunities | Apply for Grants | Key Submission Reminders | Important Announcements | FAQ ’s

Grants.gov is separated into two main functions, including Find Grant Opportunities and Apply for Grants. The Apply for Grants function allows you to download and complete an application package posted on Grants.Gov and have it submitted electronically through the Office of Research Services (ORS). For step-by-step directions on submitting an application through Grants.gov, please see the instructions below.

Instructions

  1. Go to Grants.gov
  2. Download PureEdge Viewer (If not already installed on computer)
  3. Select Apply for Grants
  4. Download selected application package
  5. Complete the application package off-line
  6. At least seven (7) days prior to the agency submission deadline, submit:
    1. 424 Face Page
    2. Budget print outs (if modular budget, provide detailed 1st year budget for internal purposes only)
    3. Abstract/Scope of Work

NOTE: The proposal will not be submitted through Grants.gov without receipt of the PAF by ORS.

  7. ORS reviews PAF along with PureEdge application. Once approved ORS will submit the application to Grants.gov.
  8. ORS will send email with Grants.gov confirmation and the submitted PureEdge file to the PI and/or Business manager.
  9. Grants.gov notifies ORS about receipt, errors, and acceptance. Grants.gov may reject your application if fields are incorrectly completed or viruses are present. ORS will contact you if errors must be corrected.
  10. The granting agency retrieves the accepted application from Grants.gov and notifies ORS when it is received. Some agencies may notify ORS once it is accepted (NIH).
