HRSA NOTICE: IMMEDIATE CHANGE IN GRANTS APPLICATION PROCESS
Major changes are coming to HRSA’s Grant Application Process. For
guidances released/posted on or after January 1, 2006, HRSA will no
longer accept applications for grant opportunities on paper.
Applicants submitting New and Competing continuations and a selected
number of non-competing continuation applications will be required to
submit electronically through Grants.gov (Please use hyperlink to the
following for Grants.gov http://tigger.uic.edu/depts/ovcr/research/proposals/submitting/grants_gov.shtml )
All applicants must submit in this manner unless the applicant
is granted a written exemption from this requirement in advance by the
Director of
HRSA’s Division of Grants Policy. Grantees must request an exemption
in writing from DGPClearances@hrsa.gov, and provide details as to why
they are not able to submit electronically though the Grants.gov portal.
As indicated in the program guidances, for applications that mandate electronic
submission through Grants.gov paper applications will not be accepted
without prior written approval.
Please note, Grants.gov requires a one-time registration by the applicant
organization. As such, the Office of Research Services (ORS) is fully
registered in Grants.gov and is prepared to submit applications electronically
via Grants.gov system. Please note, Principal Investigators (PI's)
do NOT need to register in Grants.gov nor create accounts to use the system.
To electronically Find and Apply for grant opportunities using the Grants.gov
system, please refer to our step-by-step instructions on the ORS website
at the following: http://tigger.uic.edu/depts/ovcr/research/proposals/submitting/grants_gov_apply_for_grants.shtml
Please note, all proposals must still be reviewed and approved by ORS
at least five (5) days prior to the submission deadline, submit:
- Proposal Approval Form (PAF),
- Proposal Budget (matching that provided
in the Grants.gov application package)
- Scope of Work
NOTE: The proposal will not be submitted through Grants.gov without
receipt of the PAF by ORS
The Office of Research Services (ORS) is prepared to assist you
in this process. If you have any further questions about this
matter, please
