Commons: Requesting Authorized Official Access
Overview
Because of the large number of faculty requiring registration to
the NIH Commons system, a business manager or equivalent from each department/unit
will be registered by ORS with the role of Authorized Official (AO).
ORS will register one AO for each department/unit—multiple AO registrations
will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
The AO has the following capabilities:
- Create AO, PI and Assistant (ASST)
accounts
- View institution profile, Reps & Certs, and institutional usage
(i.e. individuals roles, how many times they have logged in, and
usernames)
- Update personal profile information
- Search for proposals
- Search for Type 5 (non competing continuation) proposals
Instructions
To request registration as the AO for your department, e-mail
Gwen Daniels the following information:
- Subject line: "NIH Common’s
Registration Request”
- Body: Full Name, Email Address, Phone Number
Result: Within 24 hours, ORS will email a registration confirmation
and NIH will email you a username and temporary password.
