NIH SNAP
When do you use SNAP?
Your NIH award notice will specify if the grant is subject to or excluded
from SNAP. It is generally used for awards covered under Expanded Authorities
and Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP) terms, except Program Project
Grants (P01s) and Outstanding Investigator Grants (R35s).
Required Documents
- Face
Page (Form Page 1)
Leave
the direct & total costs requested blank.
- Progress
Report Summary (Form Page 5)
Answer the following questions in the space provided, THEN use
this guide to complete your two-page summary.
- Has there been a change in the other support
of key personnel since the last reporting period? Provide
specific information only if active support has changed, for
example, a previously active
grant has terminated and/or a previously pending grant is now active.
Submission of other support information is not necessary if support
is pending
or for changes in the level of effort for active support reported previously.
- Will there be, in the next budget period, a
significant change in the level of effort for key personnel from
what was approved for
this project? A significant change in level
of effort is defined as a 25% reduction in time devoted to the project.
For example, if a key person
is expected to reduce his/her effort from 40% to 30%, this is a 25%
reduction in the level of effort and must be reported.
- Is it anticipated that
an estimated, unobligated balance (including prior year carryover)
will be greater than 25% of the current
year's total budget? Your explanation should
include why there is a significant
balance
and how it will be spent if carried forward into
the next budget period.
- Personnel
Report (Form Page 7)
Using the table, list all key personnel (salaried and unsalaried) for
the current budget period at the applicant organization or elsewhere,
who participated
in the project during the current budget period. Provision of social
security numbers is voluntary and will be used only for program
management purposes.
- Budget – required for ORS only.
If easier, copy the budget from the initial award and circle the appropriate
budget year.
