*Note: Completion of GC470 is still required for all graduate students using animals for thesis research. Online TrainingIntroductionThe following instructions are for accessing the UIC/ACC on-line training module, Animals and Research at UIC – What do Investigators Need to Know and Why. Time CommitmentThe course will take approximately two hours to complete. There are 12 sections, some of which will take longer than others to complete. If you cannot complete the course in one session, suspend the session, and you may log in at a later time using the same user name and password to complete the lessons. The course will resume where it was suspended. Rules
Getting StartedComplete the following steps to register for and access the online training course. Note on browser and software requirements: The system is currently optimized to use IE 6.0. Users may experience difficulties using other browsers like Mozilla Firefox and even IE 7.0. If you experience problems with your web browser, please try to access the site using IE 6.0. In addition, to the launch the course the latest Java Run Time Environment installed, you can download this for free at http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp.Complete the following steps to register for and access the online training course.
If you have previously enrolled in the learning management system, do not enroll again. Please follow instructions below. If you have forgotten username or password click on password retrieval and follow instructions. Please note the username and password will be sent in separate emails and you must have your username to request your password.
Verification of TrainingFollowing successful complete of the course, the UIC Training Learning Management System (LMS) will generate an automatic email to the user indicating which course has been completed and providing information as to accessing the certificate of completed. Investigators are advised to print this certificate and maintain for their records. |
