Transportation

Chicago is easily accessible by all types of transportation. 

Getting Here By Air

O'Hare International Airport (773-686-2200) handles more passengers than any other airport in the world. For visitors needing information or directions, airport information booths are located on the lower levels of the domestic terminals and on the upper and lower levels of the International Terminal. A foreign currency exchange is located on the lower level of the International Terminal. It's 13 miles from O’Hare to downtown. The rush hour commute can take about one hour, while the midday or evening commute is approximately thirty minutes. Taking a taxi to/from the airportvaries depending on travel time from $30-50 from O’Hare. 
 
Midway Airport (773-838-0600) is located at 5700 Cicero Ave., 20 minutes from downtown Chicago. The one-building airport is divided into three terminals, A, B and C. The main lobby at the airport's center entrance is where the information booth and all vehicle pick-up services are available. It's about 12 miles from Midway to downtown. During rush-hour it can take about 45 minutes to an hour. During the mid-day and evenings it's around 20-30 minutes. Taking a taxi to/from the airportvaries depending on travel time from $25–45 from Midway.  
  
Gary Chicago International Airport (219-949-9722) is located in Gary, Indiana at 6001 W. Industrial Hwy. Just 35 minutes from downtown Chicago, it offers free, 24-hour parking and convenient access to I-90, I-80/94, I-65, the Chicago Skyway, the Dan Ryan Expressway and Lake Shore Drive.


Getting from the Airport to the Hotel

Continental Airport Express departs every 10-15 minutes from O’Hare and Midway baggage claim. From O’Hare: Cost is $25 per person one–way or $46 roundtrip; more than one traveler - $18 per person one-way or $34 roundtrip. From Midway: Cost is $20 per person one-way or $36 roundtrip; more than one traveler - $14 per person one-way or $26 roundtrip. 

By Train

Chicago is accessible by Amtrak or by Metra, Chicago’s commuter rail system which services the suburbs surrounding Chicago.

By Car

Intersected by several major interstates, Chicago is also easily accessible by car.  For exact driving directions, please use www.mapquest.com using 151 E. Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601 as your destination.

By Public Transportation

Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) offers fast, direct train service from both airports to downtown, convenient bus and train lines to major attractions, simple fare cards, easy-to-use maps and brochures, and custom trip planning for groups.

For route, fare and schedule information, call 312-836-7000 every day from 5 a.m.-1 a.m. (CT). The CTA system map and Downtown Sightseeing Guide are available at all train stations, airports, visitor information centers and hotels. You can also plan your trip online! Get your itinerary

Taking Taxicabs

The “flag pull” or initial charge is $2.25 for the first 1/9 mile. The additional fraction of a mile charge is 20 cents for each additional 1/9 mile. Every 36 seconds of time elapsed is 20 cents.

The flat fee for the first additional passenger is $1.00; the flat fee for each additional passenger, after the first additional passenger is 50 cents.
