Research Subjects Needed

ELIGIBILITY:  Adult smokers between the ages of 18 and 65, who smoke at least 15 cigarettes per day are needed for a research study being conducted at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

PURPOSE:  The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of nicotine on negative and positive moods in smokers with or without depression.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPENSATION:  For individuals interested in the study, eligibility will be assessed in two stages: 1) an initial telephone screening, and 2) a screening interview. If eligible, participants will be asked to attend 4 experimental sessions. Please note that participation is completely voluntary. Subjects will be compensated for participating in the research.
