Transportation to Chicago
UIC is located just outside the "Loop" of downtown Chicago. We
are easily accessible via car and parking will be available in the parking
garage and lots across from the Chicago Circle Center (750 S. Halsted).
The CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) has extensive bus and "L"
service to the campus as well. The Greyhound bus station and Amtrak station
are also relatively near campus.

Amtrak
also provides service to downtown Chicago. Union Station terminal is a short
cab or bus ride to the UIC campus.
Flying in? We are currently seeking
an "official" airline for the conference to provide discounts
to our registrants.Check the website for information as it develops.
We have links to Chicago
O'Hare International Airport info and to Chicago
Midway Airport info. The CTA provides "L"
service from both airports to downtown (the Blue line train serves O'Hare
and the UIC campus; the orange line train serves Midway and requires a transfer
downtown to the Blue line train to get to UIC).

Public transportation:
- Chicago Transit Authority
(CTA) info: We are easily reached via "L" on the Blue line train
at the Halsted/Univ. of Illinois stop and by these bus routes:No. 60 Blue
Island-26th Street; No. 8, Halsted Street; No. 7, Harrison Street; No.
12, Roosevelt Road; or No. 37, Taylor Street. Fares are only $1.50 (plus
30 cents if you need a transfer). If you fly into O'Hare, the Blue line
is the easiest and cheapest route to the Loop. Use the Subway
Navigator web site to figure out your routes.
- Chicago's Metra Commuter Rail Transportation
System provides transit from the suburbs to downtown. The campus is
a short cab or bus ride away from all downtown Metra stations. Burlington
Northern Penn Central, Milwaukee Road, and some of the Illinois Central
Gulf trains arrive at Union Station (one mile north and east of the University).
North Western trains arrive at the North Western Station (two blocks north
of Union Station). Conference registrants arriving at either of these two
stations may board the No. 60 bus (Blue Island-26th Street) at Clinton
and Adams Streets or at Clinton and Jackson streets. Some Illinois Central
trains and all South Shore trains arrive at the Illinois Central Station
at Randolph Street and Michigan Avenue. From that station, commuters may
board west-bound CTA Blue-line trains at the Dearborn and Randolph streets
subway station. Rock Island commuter trains arrive at the LaSalle Street
Station. Commuters may board west-bound CTA Blue-line trains at the LaSalle
Street Station.
