Project Millennium:

Project Millennium
at UIC

UIC is proud to have participated
in the City of Chicago's observance of the new millennium.

A turn of a millennium comes around only once in every 30 generations, and we were here to experience it! The start of the new millennium provided us with a unique opportunity to reflect upon and celebrate the nature and significance of our lives and accomploishments, our cultures, and histories, our universe and its future. UIC was an active participant in Chicago's Millennium Celebration. 185 cultural, educational, research and community organizations assembled to create a three-year, city-wide initiative that includes hundreds of exhibits, performing arts productions, reading, lectures, film series, children's events, contests, and more. Project Millennium drew to a close at UIC in the spring of 2000. This site will remain on-lineas an archival record of our activities.
