College of Architecture and the Arts Awards

Chicago Bar Association Entertainment Commitee Music Award-

- For a continuing music major in the Department of Performing Arts

- Selection is by audition before the music faculty

- One award each in piano, concert band, jazz ensemble and choral ensemble

- During the academic year following the award:

  • The piano recipient will study with Professor Collerd and be given ensemble and/or accompaniment assignments
  • The ensemble and band recipients will each be a member of a university performing group as assigned by the department

.Award is made by nomination within the department.

 


 

Chicago Bar Association Entertainment Committee Theater Award-

- For a continuing full time undergraduate student who is a theater major in good academic standing and enrolled for at least 12 semester hours

- Must have attended UIC for at least 2 semesters and have at least 2 semesters remaining before graduation

-The recipient will be honored at the College of Architecture and the Arts fall awards convocation

Award is made by nomination within the department.

 


 

Joy and Bob Harnack Memorial Award-

- To assist one or two outstanding members of departmental music ensembles or pianists in completing a degree program.

-Ordinarily given to a student completing the junior year

- Selection is by audition before the music faculty

 


 

Judith Ikenberry Award- $1,000

- A student enrolled in the creative arts in the College of Architecture and the Arts

- Strong academic record, and a grade point average of 3.2/4.0 or higher

 


 

Peter Langmar Memorial Design Award - $500

-Junior or senior standing is required

-Must be a major in Industrial Design

-Must have a 3.0 grade point average or above

-Design samples are reviewed

Selection is completed within the School of Art & Design.  No application is necessary.
