Bassett, Chiswick, Kosobud and Stokes Award- $500

- Undergraduate or graduate student, full or part-time

-Outstanding student record in economics

- Preference is given to female applicants

Violet Bergquist Redding Award- $500

- Undergraduate student, junior standing or higher, majoring in the Teaching of Spanish (preference will be given to students who are not graduating)

- Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA

- Minimum 3.5/4.0 foreign language GPA

 


 

Cathy Hill Cawthon Memorial Award- $500

- Student must have at least sophomore standing and be majoring in mathematics.

- Preference will be given to female students.

- Preference will be given to continuing students (not graduating).

 


 

Chicago Bar Association Entertainment Committee Criminal Justice Graduate Award- TBD

-Graduate student enrolled in criminal justice

- Award to be used to pay the costs of pursuing a graduate degree in criminal justice

- Recognition will be given to students with a record of involvement and participation in theatrical and musical activities on campus or in their communities.

 


 

Chicago Bar Association Entertainment Committee Criminal Justice Undergraduate Award- $300

- For a UIC undergraduate criminal justice major who has been admitted to or is enrolled in a UIC graduate program in criminal justice

- Award will be used to pay the costs of pursuing a graduate degree in criminal justice

-Recognition will be given to students with a record of involvement and participation in theatrical and musical activities on campus or in their communities.

 


 

Hirsch Family Award- $1,200

-Continuing full-time (12 credit hours) undergraduate student in biological sciences or neuroscience

- Minimum UIC GPA of 3.5/4.0

- Financial need is a consideration, but not a requirement

 


 

Peter and Elsie May Klassen Memorial Award- $700

- Continuing, upper division undergraduate student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with at least 60 semester hours

- At least a 3.5/4.0 GPA

 


 

Donald and Patricia Langenberg Award - $500

- Continuing undergraduate student, with preference for a woman or minority student

- Must be majoring in mathematics, statistics or the natural sciences

- Student must intend to pursue graduate study in their field (Masters level or PhD work). Pre-medicine students are not eligible.

 


 

Norman Nachtrieb Memorial Award- $900

- Continuing (not graduating) sophomore, junior or senior who is majoring in chemistry (BA or BS), biochemistry, or teacher education in chemistry

- Must have a 3.0/4.0 GPA and show scientific promise

 


 

Michael J. Piorkowski Award- $500

- Graduate student in good standing in biopsychology or cognitive psychology who displays creativity, strength of character, and a love of people

Nominations and selection are made by the Psychology department.

 


 

Ronald P. Moses Economics Club Award- $500

- Junior or senior in good standing who has made contributions to the Economics Club or Department of Economics

Joel M. Rothschild Award- $500

- Outstanding graduating senior who has an interest in pursuing graduate work in geographic studies

 


 

Sylvia L. Saffrin Memorial Award- $900

- Undergraduate of junior or senior standing majoring in economics, or a graduate student in the Master of Arts or PhD program in economics

- Academically outstanding

- US citizenship is required

Robert and Corrinne Silver Award - $900

-Continuing undergraduate English major with an emphasis on literature

-Must have at least a 3.0 grade point average or above

-Preference is given to applicants demonstrating financial need



 

Richard H. Ward Award- $900

- A current criminal justice practitioner, or one on leave from his/her agency, or one recently retired pursuing a degree. International students who meet these criteria are also eligible.

- The award is non-renewable

- Sophomore standing or higher

- Preference will be given to graduate and full-time students

 


 

Mark Wyatt Award- $500

-For an academically outstanding undergraduate majoring in biological sciences, biochemistry, or neuroscience

- Applicants must be planning to attend medical school

- Preference is given to continuing students (not graduating) who have demonstrated leadership and a passion for research
