1. How do I get application materials?

For those awards using our common application, you can apply online using our webform application, you may download a paper copy of our application OR you may pick up materials at room 2506 University Hall on weekdays from 8:30am to 4:45pm. (Engineering, Economics and some graduate awards require that you contact the department for applications.)

2. How can I apply for more than one award?

You may check off as many boxes as necessary when using our main application. You only need to submit one complete set of materials and we will make copies as necessary. If you are applying for an award which has a special application, you may need to submit that application along with a regular SAUIC application.

3. Who can apply for these scholarships?

Generally, SAUIC awards are for currently enrolled UIC students who have completed at least 12 credit hours on campus at UIC. In some cases, part-time students may be eligible. Please read the requirements for each award to be sure that you meet the specific criteria listed. You will not be considered for awards if you do not meet the stated requirements. Prospective freshmen are not eligible.

If you are not a currently enrolled UIC student, you may wish to contact UIC Financial Aid to determine what other types of assistance you may qualify for when you enroll.

4. I'm an incoming freshmen or a transfer student, am I eligible?

You must have at least 12 hours of coursework completed at UIC before you are eligibile for any of these awards. Instead, please contact the UIC Financial Aid Office or your college/department to learn about other scholarship and aid opportunities (see question 3).

5. When are these scholarship applications due?

Award applications are due on the second friday in February of each year. For 2008 the deadline is February 15, by 4:00pm.
