Procmail can automatically file incoming mail in different notebooks, can filter mail depending on the headers, can forward mail to others depending on the subject, and various sorts of magic.
Procmail is turned on and configured by creating a .procmailrc file. The "Using procmail" document below is an introduction to procmail; it has sample .procmailrc file. For more information, and additional sample .procmailrc files, see the procmail man pages, including man procmailex which has several additional examples.
