Software Available on tigger.cc.uic.edu

Tigger is an IBM Pseries/620 model 6F1 runing AIX UNIX version 4.3.3.

Any UIC faculty or staff member is eligible for an account on tigger. It can be accessed by network or dialin and it is typically used for email, newsgroups, word processing, small to medium computations, and for developing and serving personal, departmental, and class-related Web pages.

Larger compute-intensive tasks should be run on the ACCC's Beowulf cluster, argo.cc.uic.edu. Faculty, staff, and students with a faculty sponsor may use argo. See the argo home page for more information and instructions on how to open an account.

This document is a list of the software packages available on tigger, with links to information on their use, including, in most cases, their man pages.
