Why They're Important

 

        UIC is a wonderful institution of higher learning with some fantastic students and faculty, but it can be a daunting place. Thank goodness they tore down the concrete overhead walkways, have planted more greenery, and have added several buildings in a humane architectural style. Even so, the place still feels impersonal. That's why student organizations are so important, and why I helped found the History Club and am currently faculty advisor to the UIC College Republicans and the Freedom Alliance of UIC.
